Euge, serve bone et fidelis...

It is worth mentioning, albeit with some delay, that the Holy Father has appointed Msgr. Gianni Ambrosio - who, as reported by the NLM, in his capacity of General Ecclesiastical Assistant of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milano, celebrated a crowded Mass in the Extraordinary form of the Roman Rite in the University Chapel Chapel last October - Bishop to the prestigious episcopal See of Piacenza-Bobbio

A just reward for a priest who bravely resisted to strong pressures from the highest ranks of the Archdiocese of Milan, that is to this day sadly refusing to aknowledge the authority of the Holy Father in matters of liturgy upon its territory.
The Holy See has now chosen to repay the obedience of Msgr. Ambrosio to the intentions clearly expressed by the Sovereign Pontiff in his Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum.

The NLM commented about the -implicit, for now- effects of Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum on the Ambrosian Rite here, here and here.
