A Tour of the Parkminster Charterhouse

Here is a very happy discovery, courtesy of the YouTube suggestion algorithm, a video which gives a tour of the Charterhouse of St Hugh, the only Carthusian monastery in England, located in the town of Parkminster in West Sussex. The priest giving the tour, Fr Christopher Basden of the archdiocese of Southwark, is very knowledgeable about the Carthusian Order and its history and traditions, and I am sure all of our readers will find this very much worth their time.

A second video from the same channel takes us to one of the cells. As Fr Basden explains in the first video, Parkminster has an unusually large number of cells for a Charterhouse, in part because it was built to accommodate Carthusians who were being expelled from the monasteries in France.
