Young Adults in New Zealand

The following was sent NLM's way recently from New Zealand:

Recently in NZ we had the rare privilege of celebrating a Solemn High Mass (of the Epiphany) at Hearts Aflame, which is a young adults summer camp held annually in January.

Several young local priests who celebrate the usus antiquior on a regular basis (low Mass) served as celebrant, deacon, and sub-deacon. The date the Mass was offered was Thurs, 10 Jan 2013, and it was a votive of the Epiphany.

Regarding Hearts Aflame, it occurs each year in January, and approx 160 young adults from all over NZ gather in a singular location for a 10 day retreat/conference - to celebrate being Catholic; to attend lectures and talks on various dimensions of the Faith (philosophy, theology, liturgy, spirituality, etc); pray the Liturgy of the Hours in common according to the traditional modes; spend time in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament; experience reverent celebration of Holy Mass (both forms); attend workshops on various other topics; frequent the sacrament of Confession and seek spiritual direction; spend time in fellowship and recreation with other young Catholics; and meet many young religious and priests who come to serve the spiritual needs of the young people at the camp.

Here is a video of the Mass.
