2008 Catholic Blog Awards accepting nominations now

Nominations are now being taken for the 2008 Catholic Blog Awards.

Here is how it works, only those blogs that have a significant number of nominations will actually be eligible to be voted upon when it comes to the actual vote. In other words, don't assume that a nomination will be forthcoming; if you do, your favourite blogs may not appear in the final short-list for voting upon.

There is a significant rule change this year:

In past years we were able to vote more than once, will we still be able to do that?

No, even though the voting system will allow you to cast more than one vote, it only records your latest vote as the valid one. In other words, if you fill out the form again, it writes over your old vote.

You need an account to make your nominations, which is quick and easy -- as is changing your password if you forgot.

Do consider, in your charity, taking the time to nominate the NLM for those categories where you think it deserves one.

Here are the categories which are relevant to the NLM:

Best Overall Catholic Blog
Best Designed Catholic Blog
Best Written Catholic Blog
Best Group Blog
Smartest Catholic Blog
Most Informative & Insightful Catholic Blog
Best Insider News Catholic Blog
Most Spiritual Blog

The other categories do not really pertain to us.

Do note: you can vote for the NLM in multiple categories. In other words, you don't have to pick just one category per blog, but, you can only vote once per category as per the rule change.

Why vote? Because those who actually win these awards do gain promotion and new readers. A vote for the NLM is a vote for the particular apostolate the NLM seeks to promote with our fellow Catholics.

Please go and vote now while it is fresh in your mind. I'm not likely to mention the nominations again.
