Annual Pilgrimage of Tradition in France

A little less than a year ago, I reported to you about the Annual Pilgrimage of Tradition in France -- otherwise known as the "Chartres Pilgrimage.

Well it's that time of year again, and the 2007 pilgrimage will be occuring from the 26-28th of May, with the theme "Walking with God." (See here)

Those who have the opportunity to go, I'd heartily recommend it. I should love to get there one day if the opportunity presents itself.

A few images from the 2006 Chartres pilgrimage to give you a sense of the flavour of the event, wet your appetite and stir your imagination:

The relevance of "old" Catholic Europe is certainly still potent and relevant in the modern day. They certainly know how to "do" a pilgrimage in all regards. Such acts of piety and devotion, of beauty and ascesis, and the tie in to our spiritual and cultural heritage; these continue to have the power to stir up the imagination and heart and move the intellect. They are powerful witnesses to the Faith as well.
