Lacrimarum Valle: Royal Regalia

Earlier styles of vestments have been a frequent topic here and I just noticed that Lacrimarum Valle has a story up on one that was actually able to be recently seen in liturgical use -- a rare treat.

The vestment is apparently late mediaeval or early renaissance and certainly the cut of it sits part way between what we saw the Pope wore recently and a more typically full form of gothic chasuble. It also bears some interesting embroidery which close-ups are available of.

Do go over and take a look.
