New Headlines Feature

While some tweaks may be necessary everyone will notice the new "Headlines" feature, which I hope readers will find useful.

I have presently set it to show the last eight posts and the first 100 characters of the post text.

The idea here is that, like news sites, this might be a convenient way for readers to skim check in (or back in) on what the day's posts are. Because the links are clickable, it also provides you with a quick way to get down to a post if you are following the comments.

After a post goes beyond the most recent eight, you can, as you always have done, simply scroll down as you normally would. This applies as well to those who simply aren't interested in the headlines feature.

I do want to thank Patrick Archbold of Creative Minority Report who shared with me the Javascript code for this feature -- one they use over on that excellent blog as well. Thank you Patrick.
