Fr. Kevin Fitzpatrick, R.I.P.

The following came in from a reader:

Sad news for friends of the Extraordinary Form in the New York - Connecticut area, Fr. Kevin Fitzpatrick passed away last Sunday morning. He had been ill for a short time, and was unable to recover from recent surgery. Father was only 52 years old, and besides serving as the first priest on the Board of the St. Gregory Society of New Haven, he was a noted theologian; strong proponent and celebrant of the Tridentine Mass; and, an eloquent champion of Orthodoxy. Just recently, Father had written a beautiful rememberance on the death of his close friend, William F. Buckley. Buckley dedicated his book "Nearer My God" to Father Fitzpatrick.

A Solemn High Requiem Mass will be said for Father on Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church in Stamford.
