Off to a Conference.

Thanks to the generous donations of a few benefactors to the NLM, I am off to the Research Institute for Catholic Liturgy's Looking Again at the Liturgical Reform: The Implementation of Sacrosanctum Concilium conference this weekend. The conference features Dr. Alcuin Reid as a speaker.

I will report on the conference, and hope to have some photographs, when I return Sunday evening -- with, likely, more detailed report to follow later in the week.

For any who are also going to this conference, do indeed try to "look me up" while you are there.

The conference programme on Sunday, for those still considering going, is as follows:

8:00 Arrival and registration

8:30 Divine Office/Lauds

9:00 Solemn Sung Mass of Pentecost Sunday

10:30 Continental Breakfast

11:00 “The Fathers of the Council on the Liturgical Reform: How Do They Assess What Happened?” by Dr Alcuin Reid

12:00 Luncheon

1:15 (a) "Continuity and Change in Catholic Liturgical Music: The First 1960 Years"

(b) "Chants of the Liturgy of Pentecost: Mass and Hours" by Dr J. Richard Haefer

2:30 Refreshment Break

3:00 “Sacrosanctum concilium and the reform of the Ordo Missae” by Dr Alcuin Reid

4:30 Coffee Break

5:00 Divine Office/Vespers

6:00 Banquet with Dr Reid, Dr Haefer, and Fr Weber

I will talk to you after the weekend, and please pray for a safe journey for me and for all attending the conference.
