Freude am Glauben: News from Catholic Germany

From September 11-13th, various German Catholic associations met in Aschaffenburg in the diocese of Würzburg for a congress, Freude am Glauben (The Joy to Believe).

On September 12th, the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary, a Solemn Mass was celebrated in the usus antiquior as part of the congress. The Mass was offered by Fr. Axel Maußen, FSSP, the District Superior of the FSSP in Germany. He was assisted by Fr. Eugen Mark, FSSP, and Fr. Sven Conrad, FSSP -- a priest whose acquaintance I had the great pleasure to make at a liturgical conference in Budapest last year.

Additionally, the Bishop of Eichstätt, Dr. Gregor Maria Hanke, assisted at this Mass in choro, giving the homily.

The NLM is told that 500-600 people attended the Mass.
