Special Event in Wales

July 1, the Feast of the Most Precious Blood on the older Roman Calendar, was the occasion for a Missa cantata celebrated in the priory chapel of the monastery on Caldey Island, off the coast of southwest Wales. Father Jason Jones, rector of the national shrine of Our Lady of the Taper, Cardigan, was the celebrant.  This was the first time in over 40 years that the extraordinary form of the Latin Mass was celebrated there.  The event took place as part of a pilgrimage on the part of some members of the Latin Mass Society of England and Wales and was coordinated by the local representative of the same. NLM thanks Mr Richard Collins of Haverfordwest, Wales, for the report and photo.
