Choir of Southwark Cathedral singing Mass at Ss. Trinita in Rome this Sunday

The NLM has learned through some of its friends at Ss. Trinita, the personal parish for the usus antiquior within Rome, that the choir of Southwark Cathedral is coming to sing the Mass there this coming Sunday, July 27 at the 10 am Mass.

The Mass setting will be William Byrd's "Mass for 4 voices" with motets by Thomas Tallis.

It is worth noting that these same singers will also be having a concert in Rome at Santa Maria sopra Minerva tomorrow evening at 7:30pm. Their programme consists of selections from the Missa Papae Marcelli of Palestrina, Byrd's Masses for 4 & 5 voices, and other selections of Tallis, Ives and Durufle.

Events like these, but particularly at Ss. Trinita, are extremely important for the Roman apostolate usus antiquior.
