EXTRAORDINARY FORM IN MILAN

Dear NLM readers,

Today Thursday 11th, 2007 is a great day in Milan.

At 6.00 p.m., against all vetos from the Milanese Curia, a Mass according to the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite will be celebrated in the chapel of the famous Catholic University in Milan.
The General Ecclesiastical Assistant Msgr. Gianni Ambrosio will be the Celebrant, "in spirit of obedience to the Sovereign Pontiff Benedict XVI", as the official annoucement reads

This chapel is one of the very few churches in the Archdiocese where the Roman Rite is normative.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the Extraordinary Form of the Ambrosian Rite is still formally forbidden by Card. Tettamanzi's vicars.

I will post as soon as possible a full report with photos.

Meanwhile, you can have a look to the announcement put on the chapel's door.

You can also read an article by Andrea Tornielli on today's "Il Giornale" newspaper about this important event.

Thank you Msgr. Ambrosio!
