Some new titles for sale; Aquinas, Bouyer, etc.

I spend a great deal of time trying to acquire for my own library, reference and study, various editions of liturgical books and liturgical studies.

As a side-effect of that search, I go to many used book sales and often run into other high quality Catholic books, especially theology, and liturgy which I already have in my own collection.

I went to another such sale recently and came away with the following which I am glad to offer up for sale here. (Sadly, no great liturgical finds for my own library however! But some good finds for those particularly interested in philosophy and theology.)

A Catholic Commentary on the Holy Scriptures, ed. Dom Bernard Orchard. Oversize cloth hardcover, published in 1953. Some wear to the binding internally, but still a good volume and clean inside. Very desireable volume and commentary. Scarce.

The Lesser Eastern Churches, Adrian Fortescue. Hardcover, ex-lib. Cover defect insofar as someone wrote their name in the upper right hand corner and then removed, which has tarnished the cloth. Still a good working copy.

Lauds, Vespers and Compline in English. Taken from the Hours of the Divine Office in English and Latin. A very nice edition of these primary offices of the Tridentine breviary (English only) for Lauds, Vespers and Compline. A very good volume for one wishing to pray the traditional Roman breviary in English.

Butler's Lives of the Fathers, Martyrs and Other Saints
4 Volumes (Complete). Pretty well the edition you want to own. The books are nice oversized volumes, with deep green binding and beautiful gold-embossed designs on the spine and front cover. The set also includes gorgeous, medieval/renaissance style full-colour plates of a large number of saints throughout each volume. Published around the 1920's or 1930's and still in good shape.
