This morning, the Holy Father celebrates Mass on the Octave of Christmas, the Solemnity of the Mother of God. Some impressions:
The Holy Father is wearing Bl. Pius IX's mitre of the Immaculate Conception and the rather beautiful gothic chasuble he wore last year for the same feast and for the Easter Vigil. There are Cardinal Deacons who seem to wear Paul VI's conciliar vestments. We are possibly going to see the Holy Father wear the matching Roman chasuble on 6 January:
