New English Mass Setting by Richard Rice

Richard Rice has written a very beautiful English-language Mass setting that is now available for universal distribution. It is unison with organ accompaniment, and could serve as the foundation music for any parish once the new text translations are approved.

Currently, ICEL will not permit the direct web linking of such settings on grounds that the texts have not been approved for use. However, ICEL has said that music can be shared through email during this stage when composers are working to put together music.

So I suggest that if you want these settings, you go to MusicaSacra.com and fill out the form near the top of the page. This puts you on a list to receive all Mass settings currently being compiled and distributed at no charge by the Church Music Association of America.

If you are already subscribed to the list, you have received them in your in-box by now. Please pass them around to other musicians or priests you might know, so that knowledge of this option is as broad as possible.
