Sacred Architecture Lecture Tonight, Elm Grove, Wisconsin

For those of you within the greater Milwaukee metropolitan area--and yes, we do have one--please take note that I will be giving a presentation entitled "Heaven on Earth: An Introduction to the Deeper Significance of Church Architecture" at St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Parish, in Elm Grove, Wisconsin, for the local young adult group, Lolek, at 7:30 PM (to be proceeded by prayer in the church at 7:00). You can find out more at their website. Here's the official writeup (Vanitas Vanitatum, Omnia Vanitas):

Is church architecture just about surface beauty, or does the way we build reflect what we believe? Join Matthew Alderman, a noted ecclesiastical design consultant and church furnishing designer, as we explore how a church's structure reflects what the Catholic Faith teaches about worship, salvation, and Heaven, why the problems of ugly churches are more than skin deep, and how the teachings of Vatican II and Pope Benedict XVI will shape the church architecture of the new millennium.
If you're in the area, be sure to come, especially if you are between the ages of 20 to 35 and wanting to meet fellow Catholics from the area. There will also be snacks, time to socialize and mingle, and a question and answer session.
