You can get that CD online now

That CD that I highly recommend from the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest can now be ordered from this page. It looks like a donation page but look at the pull down options. The CD is there. Then you can fill out the form, and the CD arrives. Ta da!

To recap, this CD contains many unusual chants from the Mass ordinary repertory that will help you hear the Latin texts in new ways. We can hope that EF congregations embrace this as a way of getting beyond the usual chants that were popular in the 1940s and 50s. For OF congregations, this is a great ideal to which every schola can aspire.

There is a vast world out there, and this CD is just the beginning. Also, and very importantly, this CD displays a model of perfection in high-voice chant for Benediction, with excellent melodies I had never heard. If your parish schola is a men-only club, this will cause some rethinking.

Finally, we have here an outstanding demonstration of the purity and glory of the old Solesmes school of chant, complete with all its dynamics and phrasing and using no accompaniment. The chants in question are all from the Roman Gradual, so there is nothing wrong with listening to this and attempting to reproduce this exactly on the parish level.

It's the kind of thing that goes on your player and stays there for many weeks.
