Diocese of Monterey to Offer Two Traditional Latin Masses

Great news comes to us today from the Diocese of Monterey. Newly installed Bishop Richard Garcia is making plans to establish two "Latin Mass" locations in the diocese. The goal is to have them operational by September.

Now, some are reading this with some suspicion, saying that this is an attempt to limit the number of TLM's in Monterey. While some dioceses have taken stances that do seem to be crafted to round off the edges of the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum, this moves strikes this writer as one that is meant to provide for the sacramental needs of the faithful, perhaps even before anyone even makes any requests.

Thank you, Bishop Garcia.
