Extraordinary Form in Sugar Land, Texas

On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross a Mass celebrated in the Extraordinary Form will take place at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Sugar Land, Texas. This marks the third anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI’s Apostolic Letter Summorum Pontificum.

Issued motu proprio or “on his own initiative”, the document specified the rules, for the Latin Rite Church, for celebrating Mass according to the Missal of John XXIII in 1962, also known as the Tridentine Rite.

Fr. Stephen B. Reynolds will celebrate. The Men’s Schola from St. Theresa’s will chant the Propers for the day and the Ordinary of the Mass. In addition, they will sing excerpts from William Byrd’s Mass for Three Voices.

The Mass begins at 7:30 P.M. on September 14, 2010.

St. Theresa’s is located a 705 St. Theresa Blvd. Sugar Land, Texas. 77498
