On May 16th, the Archbishop of Toledo, Braulio Rodríguez Plaza, will celebrate Mass in the Mozarabic Rite at the High Altar of St Peter’s Basilica, starting at 3 p.m., as part of the diocesan pilgrimage to Rome from the Archdiocese of Toledo. This will be the fourth time the Mozarabic Mass is said in St Peter’s: the previous times were on October 15 of 1963, during the Second Vatican Council; May 16, 1992, when Pope St John Paul II celebrated it himself on occasion of the promulgation of the revised Mozarabic Missal and Lectionary; and on December 16 2000, towards the end of the Great Jubilee.
