Third and Final Day of the Chartres Pilgrimage

We continue our coverage of the Chartres Pentecost Pilgrimage on this the third and final day of the pilgrimage. Today we are pleased to highlight the presence of Bishop Nicolas Brouwet, Auxiliary of Nanterre and one of the youngest bishops in France, who is on the pilgrimage.

Asked about the pilgrimage the bishop commented: "As a priest, I came several times on the road to Chartres. Today, I come as a bishop. I walked this morning with several chapters, including Saint Cyprien chapter. I come as a bishop to encourage the pilgrims and to pray with them, to be where the sheep [are]."

Here are some pictures from the beginning of the pilgrimage today.

More than 10,000 pilgrims were expected to be in Chartres for the culmination of the pilgrimage.

More to come.
