Sacred Art of Leonard Porter

I wish to introduce NLM readers to the impressive work of Leonard Porter, a 47 year old American artist whose studio is based out of New York, NY.

From the Studio website:

In 1991, Porter began exploring classicism. His paintings of antiquity and classical mythology have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the country and have appeared in many publications, such as The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Art & Antiques Magazine. Porter has lectured at a number of institutions such as the University of Notre Dame, the Dahesh Museum of Art and the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America, where he is a Fellow Emeritus. Porter is a member of the INTBAU College of Traditional Practitioners and a recipient of the Arthur Ross Award for Excellence in the Classical Tradition.

Recent works have included large scale ecclesiastical murals, ceiling designs for residential settings, mythological landscape paintings, and decorative works such as painted furniture and bas-relief design.

While Porter's works are generally worth looking at, for NLM's purposes I wish to direct readers to his works of sacred art. I think his work speaks for itself and, in my mind, set a standard.
