Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy and the Communauté Saint-Martin

The NLM has introduced English speaking readers to the Communauté Saint-Martin before (cf. here and here) -- a group of clerics in France who particularly follow a reform of the reform model.

This past June 26th they saw three priests and eight deacons ordained by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, Claudio Cardinal Hummes. The ordinations took place in the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Trinité in Blois, France.

Here are a few photographs of the event.

As a point of note for those interested in vestments, do take note of the appareled amice seen here. It is embroidered and evidently of very high quality. It would be good to see these used more frequently. They certainly given a certain proper finish to the gothic style.

And here is an image from one of the first Masses of the new priests.
