Online Reading Groups on Dietrich von Hildebrand’s Liturgy and Personality

The Hildebrand Project, an organization which works to present and explore the thought and witness of Dietrich von Hildebrand, will hold an online reading group open to clergy, both in formation and ordained, about the great philosopher’s book Liturgy and Personality. The group will be directed by Dr. Maria Wolter, Associated Scholar of the Hildebrand Project and professor at the Austrian campus of Franciscan University. Published in 1933 at the height of the first Liturgical Movement, Hildebrand’s text looks at liturgical prayer as something which plays a crucial role in the formation of the human person, and in strengthening the bonds of the human community. The organizers hope that the participants will be able to find new value and insight into the personal, life-giving character of the liturgy, carrying it with them through their life and work in service of the Church.

The reading group will meet over Zoom on Tuesday afternoons (October 10, 17, 24) from 2-3:00 pm Eastern time. For more information, please visit https://hildebrandproject.org/event/liturgy-personality-october-2023-for-clergy/
A second reading group on the same text, open to everyone, will led by Tom Gourlay, Australia’s National Director of Chaplaincy and Faith Formation on three Wednesdays, October 11, 18 and 25, at 8:30 am Eastern time. https://hildebrandproject.org/event/liturgy-personality-october-2023/.
