Solemn Vows at the Benedictine Monastery of Norcia, Birthplace of St. Benedict

From the Benedictine Monks of Norcia:

On August 6th, 2010 Brother Anthony Zemenick made solemn vows in Norcia. We are pleased to offer you our ‘homemade’ video hosted by youtube which took place during a solemn Mass in the Basilica of San Benedetto, built over St Benedict’s birthplace.

One of the videos in question is this one:

The monks also noted:
In July we hosted our 11th annual summer discernment program. Participants included four men from the United States, one from Costa Rica, and two young men from England. Activities included prayer, study, and of course many hikes in the local mountains. Some photos are attached. On our pilgrimage to Subiaco, this year we also discovered a large waterfall and swimming hole, not from the saint’s cave. Could it be that the young Benedict also swam there?

As a reminder for our readers, the Monks of Norcia do us the great favour of publishing daily recordings of the Mass and the Divine Office from their monastery in audio format. (Here is an RSS feed of the same.) Aside from the Mass, this is a particularly rare opportunity for many to participate, even if only by listening, in sung Vespers in a regular way.

I would encourage everyone to take advantage of this service rendered to us by the monks, and to spread awareness of it.
