Requiem for Louis XVI in Paris

Solemn requiem Louis XVI on 21 January 2013: during the absolution

In France this past January 21st, many holy Masses were offered for King Louis XVI, as it is the anniversary of his death. Here are some pictures from Saint-Eugene-Sainte-Cecile (Paris IX), where the old rite is celebrated daily.

This year the choir sang the Requiem written by Cherubini in memory of Louis XVI which was commissioned by Louis XVIII in 1816.
