On Saturday, May 2nd, the Rev. Michael Shami, a deacon of the Maronite Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles, will be ordained to the priesthood at the church of Our Lady of Ilige in St Louis, Missouri, by his bishop, the Most Rev. Elias Zaidan. Because of the quarantine, the ceremony will of course not be open to the public, but will be live-streamed via the Eparchy’s Facebook page, a unique opportunity to see this interesting rite. The program is already available via GoogleDrive; the ordination will begin at 11 am Central Time. In June of last year, we featured pictures of the Rev. Shami’s diaconal ordination, which took place at the North American Collge in Rome.
