Upcoming All Saints' and All Souls' Day Liturgies

News of upcoming liturgies from three Juventutem groups follows. Readers may also feel free to post information in the comments about upcoming Masses in their area. Please include a link to more information on the event if possible.

All Saints' Day at the Seminary

Join Juventutem Miami, the Archdiocese of Miami Traditional Latin Mass Community (Miamiensis- The Archdiocese of Miami Loves the Traditional Latin Mass), and the St. John Vianney College Seminary community for the FIRST EVER celebration of Mass according to the 1962 Roman Missal at St. Raphael's Chapel at St. John Vianney Seminary.

Monsignor Oscar F. Castañeda, Spiritual Director at the Seminary and Chaplain to the Traditional Latin Mass Community, will offer Sung Mass (Missa Cantata). The Schola Cantorum of Sts. Francis and Claire and members of the seminary schola will chant the Mass under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Donelson.

All Souls' Day at St. Hugo of the Hills

From the Oakland County Latin Mass Association:

November 2 is All Souls' Day. Liturgy will be held in the Stone Chapel on the grounds of St. Hugo of the Hills Parish in Bloomfield Hills. At 4:00 p.m., Solemn High Mass with Deacon and Subdeacon will be celebrated at the high altar. The ceremony of Absolution of the Dead will conclude the rites. Music director will be Wassim Sarweh, with the choir of Assumption, Windsor. They will sing Mozart's Requiem.

St. Hugo of the Hills is located at 2215 Opdyke Road, Bloomfield Hills. The Stone Chapel is located on the southern end of the campus.

Cemetery Vespers and Young Adult Social

Throughout November the Church prays for all who are in the purifying fires of Purgatory, waiting for the day when they will join the company of the saints in heaven. Among other prayers, the Church offers a Plenary Indulgence for the holy souls for one who visits a cemetery between November 1-8 and prays for the dead.

Following the 4:00 p.m. Sung Requiem at St. Hugo, members of Juventutem Michigan will gather at a nearby Catholic cemetery and pray Sung Vespers for the Dead.

This Saturday at noon at St Thomas in Woodley Park, a Solemn Requiem Mass for All Souls Day will be celebrated.

It is preceded by a recollection at 10:30 am and confessions at 11:30 am.
